Pastoral Leadership Program - Scholarships
The purpose of this scholarship is...
to provide tuition assistance for lay persons and permanent deacons in the Diocese of Crookston pursuing certification and/or a degree in some area of church ministry; or pursuing continuing education in faith formation; or enrolled in a
short term leadership formation program.
To be eligible, the applicant must...
belong to a parish in the Diocese of Crookston
give evidence of past and present parish commitment
possess leadership qualities
be available for church ministry in the Diocese of Crookston upon completion of the program
be enrolled or seeking enrollment in a program through a Catholic institution that leads to certification and/or a degree in an area of ministry including, but not limited to liturgy, catechetics, pastoral ministry, leadership, etc.
or pursuing continuing education in faith formation in a Catholic institution.
submit completed application form with two letters of endorsement, the first from your priest or pastoral administrator, the second from a person familiar with you and your ministry.
MARY SCHOLARSHIP
The Mary Scholarship is a resource offered by the Diocese of Crookston to adult Catholics wishing to pursue adult religious education and needing financial assistance.
Based on the conviction that the People of God in the Diocese of Crookston deeply desire to continue their religious formation in order to better serve the Church, all adult persons in the Diocese of Crookston, regardless of sex or state of life, may apply for funding. Application for funds may be submitted at any time, but must be done prior the individual's attendance at the desired course or workshop.
Up to $300 per person may be received for costs of tuition, child care, transportation and supplies.
Completed application forms are to be accompanied by two letters of endorsement, one from the pastor and the other from someone familiar with the applicant. Letters of endorsement are to contain basic information about the program or event the applicant wishes to attend and some knowledge of how the applicant and parish will benefit from the experience.

For applications for $25 or less, a phone call or email of endorsement from your pastor is sufficient, in place of a letter.

-Submit grade slip/transcript from past classes funded through Pastoral Leadership Scholarship
- Submit a short essay describing your educational experience of the last scholarship period
