High School Youth Rally theme: ‘The Lord is my Strength’

OND Staff Report

The diocesan High School Youth Rally will be held Oct. 29 at Holy Rosary, Detroit Lakes. Doors open at 1 p.m. and the event will last until 8 p.m. The cost to attend is $30 and includes dinner. Contact your youth minister or director of religious education to register.

The theme of this year’s rally is “The Lord is my Strength.” It is based on Psalm 18:2-3: “He said: I love you, Lord, my strength, Lord, my rock, my fortress, my deliverer, my God, my rock of refuge, my shield, my saving horn, my stronghold!”

The day will include a keynote address, praise and worship, breakout sessions, Reconciliation, Mass, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and other activities.

The diocese is collaborating with Partnership for Youth, the same organization that runs the Steubenville conferences in St. Paul, Rochester and Kenosha, Wis.

The keynote speaker is Kris Frank. He graduated from Franciscan University in 2008 with a degree in catechesis and theology with a concentration in youth ministry. Frank, along with his wife, Grace, and their four children, are missionaries serving the poor and inner-city youth with Dirty Vagabond Ministries. Frank also travels the country sharing the Gospel with teens and young adults at churches, camps and conferences.

Worship music at the youth rally will be provided by the Aly Aleigha Band. The group released their first full-length album in 2016 and have been traveling the country performing their music since.
