Our Northland Diocese has a large circulation, reaching more than 14,000 homes throughout 14 counties in Northwestern Minnesota.

What we regard as news is something that might interest readers who receive OND every other week.

Activities which would have broad appeal include innovative education programs, community service projects, parish anniversary celebrations and stories about families or individuals whose lives might encourage, amuse or inspire others.

Activities which have more limited appeal (PTA meetings, bingos, in-service programs, fundraisers, booster club projects) usually reach the appropriate audience through school or parish newsletters.

Please don’t assume we know about exciting events in your parish school, club or community. We have a small staff and we rely on you for news and feature tips.

Sometimes news happens suddenly and unexpectedly. When that happens call us at (218) 281-4533; 281-5991 (FAX).

Often you will be aware of a news event months or weeks in advance or you might know of a feature story which doesn’t require a specific deadline. If you have a question about either of these you are welcome to phone but in most cases it is more effective to send us a note or press release in the mail. There is less room for error if we receive the basic information in writing, well in advance.

Additional resource persons in parishes are OND’s network of volunteer representatives called OND news correspondents. They act as liaisons between their parish and our editorial and promotion staff to coordinate parish communications.
