Responsibilities of the Office of Parish Administration

The Office of Administration will see to it that parish financial records for selected parishes are maintained in accord with generally accepted accounting practices for fund accounting and the norms of the NCCB. To this end, it will:

  1. maintain and update a Uniform Parish Accounting manual that will be the norm for all parishes;
  2. notify the Diocesan Finance Council of any parish whose financial records indicate a financial problem.
  3. perform administrative review for two or three parishes each fiscal year.

The Office of Administration will oversee an adequate benefits program for the priests and employees of the Diocese and parishes.

The Office of Administration will oversee an adequate multi-peril insurance program for the diocese and parishes. To this end, it will:

  1. continue the current relationship with Catholic Mutual Relief Society of America (CMRS) for special multi-peril insurance, which includes buildings and content, fire, extended coverage, all risk and burglary, public liability and comprehensive personal liability for priests;
  2. work with CMRS in their risk management program as part of the Catholic Umbrella Pool (CUP).
