A Statement from the Diocese of Crookston re: Ruling on Motion for Dismissal
CROOKSTON, MN – On Friday, Dec. 8, Judge Marben issued an Order in the District Court Case of Ronald Vasek v. The Diocese of Crookston, et al., 60-CV-17-921. The Diocese sought to dismiss Mr. Vasek’s claims against the Diocese for nuisance and negligence. The decision to not dismiss all counts against the Diocese of Crookston means this case will continue to proceed through the Court system. The parties will exchange information about the case and the Diocese will continue to vigorously defend this matter. Bishop Michael Hoeppner was also previously sued in this case; however, that matter has been fully resolved.
Bishop Hoeppner issued a response to this litigation and the settlement of his case. It can be found on page 3 of the Oct. 4 print edition of Our Northland Diocese newspaper, or online at www.crookston.org/ond.
