Discipleship begins in the home, the Domestic Church, and so the Diocese of Crookston seeks to support parishes as they foster and enrich family life in the Church.
Married couples are called to live the Sacrament of Marriage by being “icons of God’s love” in the world. By doing this, the married couple bring each other closer to God, reflect God’s love to their children and extended family, and be a witness to authentic marital love in their parishes and communities. The column on the right contains a link to programs and opportunities that are meant to serve as resources for parishes, spouses and families.
God created marriage to be a covenant between woman, man and God. As a Catholic evangelist proclaimed in the title of a book on marriage, it takes “Three to Get Married,” husband, wife and God. To strengthen the relationship between God and your marriage and family, pray with and for each other every day. The link to the right “Praying With the Family”provides brief video instruction on how you can begin to pray at home as well as links to a variety of prayers you can use with your spouse and with your children.
